Accessibility Statement
Peel Professional is committed to making its portfolio and assessment platform usable by as many people as possible, regardless of disability or assistive technology. This statement explains what we do, where we know work remains, and how to tell us about a problem.
Standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA. Accessibility is considered when features are designed and built, and we test against this standard as part of our development process.
What the platform provides
- Keyboard operation — all interactive controls can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
- Seven colour themes, including high-contrast light and dark options, selectable from your account settings.
- Respect for system preferences — the platform honours your operating system's contrast and reduced-motion settings.
- Responsive layout — content reflows to a single column on small screens and supports browser zoom to at least 200% without loss of content or function.
- Semantic structure — headings, landmarks, lists and tables are marked up so screen readers can navigate the page.
- Form labelling — form fields have associated labels, and validation errors are announced and described in text.
Known limitations
We are aware that some areas do not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. These include some complex data tables, a small number of interactive charts, and rich-text editing controls. We are working to address these, and alternative ways to complete the same task are available where a barrier exists.
If you encounter a barrier
If something prevents you from completing a task:
- If you are enrolled on a programme, contact your programme administrator or tutor so it can be recorded and an alternative arranged.
- You can also email us directly at postmaster@peelprofessional.uk. Please describe the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology or browser you were using.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days.
Enforcement
If you are not happy with how we respond to your report, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) at equalityadvisoryservice.com.
Hit an accessibility barrier? Email postmaster@peelprofessional.uk with the page and what you were trying to do.
